CELEBRATION OF A LIFE WELL LIVED

It is with great sadness that we announce the demise of Dr. William Ndala Wamalwa on September 30th 2017; a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor of many.  Born on 17, January 1933 to the late Ndala Wanjala and the late Rhoda Sitawa in Nambani, Bungoma County, he was the son-in-law of Stephen Uluma and Jedida Khasandi of Navakholo, Kakamega County. He was brother to the late Willingtone Wekesa Ndala, Lukelesia Alasi Nangila, Dina Nanjala Marango, Salome Nakhumicha, Anne Nakhungu, Robai Nabukhwami and Martha Lyaka Juma.

He is survived by his beloved wife Rose Nanjala Wamalwa. He was a caring father to Betty and Geoffrey Muragori Macharia, Doreen Wamalwa Vester, Gerald Ndala Wamalwa, Eric and Christine Wamalwa and Edgar and Mary-Ann Wamalwa and doting Grandfather to Kai, William, Nicole, Macharia, Mukami, Wambui, Joseph, Wamalwa, Sitawa and Alice and uncle to many.

Dr. Wamalwa was a retired Public Servant, whose distinguished career spanned Chancellor, Maseno University; Chief, Division of Administration and Conference Services, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Chief Executive, Chemelil Sugar Company; Chairman of Public Service Commission; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Planning and Development; Director of Personnel Management and Secretary to the First Kenya Cabinet after Independence. Upon retiring he continued consulting in Public Service improvement.

Prayers and meetings will be held daily at the family home near Hardy in Karen from 3 to 7.00pm. The funeral programme will be made available later.

There will be a fundraiser at the United Kenya Club on the 6th of October 2017 at 6.00pm.

Prayer Service Schedule:

Tuesday 10th October – Prayer Service 4pm-7pm, 93 Milimani Road, Hardy Karen

Wednesday 11th October – Prayers and Viewing 10am-12noon, Lee Funeral Home

Wednesday 11th October – Memorial Service 2pm-4pm, St Francis Church, Karen

Saturday 14th October – Burial Service, Navakholo, Kakamega County
