Rachel Muthoni Gachomo

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance that we announce the passing of our mother and friend Rachel Muthoni Gachomo after a long illness which occurred on 15th June 2018.

Daughter of the late Kamau Chochu and Zipporah Wanjeri Kamau. Daughter-in-law of the late Karuega Mwaniki and Wothaya Karuega. Sister of Henry Chochu Kamau, Naomi Wanjiru Kiura, Samuel Muya Kamau, Monica Wanjiku Mona, the late John Mona Kamau, Eva Waruguru Kiromo. Mary Nyambura Mwangi. Loving wife of the late Washington Gachomo Karuega. Mother of John Gachomo (AIG.CID Regional Commander Eastern), Emmah Wothaya (U.S.A), Anne Wanjeri Njeru (Nbi), Late Eva Nyambura, Mollyne Wanjiru Wango (Msa), Dr. G.A. Kamau (Nbi), Mwaniki Gachomo (Nbi), B. Mwangi Gachomo (Msa). Mother-In-law of Mary Njambi (Msa), Simeon Kotchoni (U.S.A.), Chris Njeru (Nbi), Peter Wango (Msa), Dr. Virginia Maina (Nbi), Eva Mwaniki (Nbi), Linette Mwangi (Msa) and a grandmother of many.

The funeral arrangements are ongoing at her family home at Kiawaithanji Village, Tetu Sub-County in Nyeri County.

Meetings are being held at St. Andrew’s Church (Annex Hall) Nairobi between 6.00pm to 7.30pm.

The cortege shall leave Kenyatta University Mortuary on Friday 22nd June 2018 at 7.00arn for the family farm in Kiawaithanji Village, Tetu Sub-County, Nyeri County for her final rest.
