Life History of the Late Moses Mukuria “Kuche”

1964 – 2018

Birth

Mukuria was born on 8th February 1964 in Ongata Ronga, Kajiado County. He was the third born child of the late Benson Njenga Mosoi and the late Lucia Njoki.

He was brother of Bensfield Gitau, Francisca Nduta, Justa Waithera, the late Samwel Ng’ang’a, Francis Muchene and Joseph Njoroge.

Education

Kuche as he was popularly known to many joined Class One at Ongata Rongai Primary School in 1972, he did his certificate of Primary Education exam (CPE) in 1979.

Having performed well, he joined Maasai High School in Ngong in 1980, but in 1982 he transferred to Kennedy High School in Nairobi where he sat his certificate of secondary education exam in 1983, later on, he enrolled for various professional courses in accounting and military studies.

Work

Immediately after completing his secondary education, Mukuria joined the Kenya Army in 1984 which is today known as the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF). He served the nation in various stations such as Lanet, Thika Engineers and Isiolo Base.

In the year 1989 Mukuria left the army and joined the construction sector. In the year 2008 he was contracted by the United States Military Force in Iraq. He served there until the year 2010. He was very hardworking in whatever activity he undertook. He was a believer in giving it his all. Every time he came home he would tell interesting stories gathered from his experience in the war in Iraq. He also ventured in business undertakings.

Family

Mukuria married Maureen Kainda in the year 1997. They were blessed with their first born Lucy Njoki in 1998. Afterwards they were blessed with three more children namely: Ian Smith, Benson Njenga and Thiery Henry.

Church

Mukuria was baptized at St Faith ACK Church, Ongata Rongai by vicar Manasseh Ngugi in 1983. His God Father was Ezekiel Mutundu.

Byt the time of his demise he was worshipping at ICC Woodland Church Ongata Rongai.

Passing On

Makuria has been blessed with good health throughout his life and we thank God because he has never been admitted to hospital. On Monday 2nd July 2018, he started to fell unwell. The following day he went to hospital where he was treated and given medication. On the night of the same day, he peacefully passed on in his sleep at the age of 54 years. Mukuria has left behind one wife, four children and one grandchild.
