Mary Wanjiku Kariithi

27th July 1947 – 10th January 2018

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing away of Mary Wanjiku Kariithi formerly of Kenyatta National Hospital, Dept. of Haematology, NASCOP, National Blood Transfusion Service and a founding member of the Regional Society for Blood Transfusion.

Beloved mother of Henry Kariithi of National Hospital Insurance Fund and Victoria Wamuyu of Mwanyumba Kariithi Consulting. Daughter of the Late Benson Kariithi and the Late Bilha Nyakinyua. Sister of Cecilia Nyawira, the late Charity Muthoni, the late Lucy Karingi, Paul Wachira, James Nguyo and Teresia Nyokabi. Sister-in-law of Veronica Wairimu, Margaret Wanja. Cousin of Nguyo Ngibuini, Peter Kuguru, Gikandi Ngibuini, Mrs.Wangai,Wanjiru Muriithi, Wamuyu, Gachuche & Esteri and The Kuguru, Nguyo, Machira and Wachira families among others.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers and funeral arrangements at The All Saints Cathedral on Friday 12th January, Tuesday 16th January and Wednesday 17th January 2018 from 5.30pm to 7.30 pm and daily at her rural home Kaiyaba village, Kirimukuyu, Mathira West.

The cortege will leave Nairobi for her home in Kaiyaba, Kirimukuyu, Mathira West on Thursday January 18th 2018 for a memorial service and interment. .
