Mama Flora Ilavusa Otsyula

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we, the family of the late Dr. Yona Otsyula, announce the passing on of Mama Flora Otsyula.

Wife of the late Dr. Yona Otsyula, co-wife of Mama Priscilla, Mama Leonida, Mama Rhoda (deceased). Daughter of the late Joseph Alukwe and the late Ruth Mmbasu of Mugomari Village, Ilesi Location, Kakamega County. Loving mother of Prof. Barasa Khwa-Otsyula, Everlyn Okwousa, Henry Ondwasy, Kenneth, Edward, Dr. Reuben Otsyula, Renson Muyodi, John Masadiki, Dan, Rose, Mike, Milka, Beatrice, Jeska, Peter, Praxides among others.

Sister of Rachael Ashivende, Maudi Alusiola, Rebecca Alusiola, Elisha Munasia, Elizabeth Wangia, Debora Lupamo, Seth Khamuka all deceased and Mama Naomi Shikokoti. Sister-in-law of Eseri Okwalo (deceased), Dr. Walter Otsyula (deceased), George Chituyi, Major Ondwasy, Wanguelo (deceased) among others. Grandmother of Waluse’s, Nanga’s, Ikuni, Wakhu, Wandera, Adaobi, Narots-o’, Stella, Mukoshi’s, Nekoye’s, Shanyisa, Chitui s, Okumu’s, late Osiche, Majiba’s, Ondwasy’s, Ilavusa’s, Makokha’s, Phyllis, Mmbasu’s, Alukwe, Marania’s,Yona’s, among others. Great grandmother of many. Flora was a cherished member of the larger Alukwe / Mmbasu family, and the aunt of many.

The burial will be held on Saturday 24th February 2018 at her Sirende home, Makhanga sub location, Naitiri Location, Bungoma County.
