Juliet Suubi Ntalo
Early Morning Heaven
Chirp, the birds
This perfect dawn
To declare a beautiful day.
Tingle my skin, early rays of sun,
And it’s golden light Magnifies
The beauty in the trees.
Kaleidoscopes of colour
Are in the dewy lawn
Flower strewn paths are winding round, about.
Tiny petals, clean in the mist
The day is silent. Faultless. New.
And all is well In this early morning heaven.
But the world will arise
With its bustle and blare
Dragging into the day
It’s hassle and it’s strain.
Early rays of sun, now fever high
Drying out the dew,
The glamour from the trees.
Chirp the birds no longer,
Take the back stage,
Their sweet singing drowned out
By the noise of day’s ado.
Till another dawn
When they will arise To sing and to play.
Then all will be well again In early morning heaven.
