Mzee Barnabas Mayaka Karani

1929 – 2017

We celebrate the promotion to glory of Mzee Barnabas Mayaka Karani. He died at Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital in Eldoret on Monday 13 November 2017 after a short illness. He hailed from Nyandiba Village, Monyerero Sub-location, Matongo location, Marani Sub-County of Kisii County.

Son of the late Mzee Christopher Karani and the late Mama Maria Kerubo Karani. Step-son of the late Mama Pauline Moraa Karani. Loving husband and friend of Mama Alexina Moraa Mayaka. He was father of Mellen, Sarah, Aloys, Mark, William, Josephine, Daniel, Gladys and George. Father-in-law of Norah Aloys, Zipporah Mark, Pamela William, Grace Daniel, Samwel Nyakundi, Joseph Kerauma, Jared Keago and Benedict Osumo. He left behind 32 grand children and 41 great grand children. He was brother, cousin, uncle, Korera, brother-in-law and friend to many.

Meetings for funeral arrangements are being held in Eldoret and his rural home in Kisii. The cortege leaves Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital mortuary on 23 November 2017 followed by funeral service and burial at his home in Nyandiba village on Friday 24 November 2017.
