Joseph Odero

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden demise of Mr. Joseph Odero of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) Africa Regional Office Nairobi, which occurred at the Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi.

Son of the late Mzee Odero Osumba and late Mama Ogodo Nyarondo of Kamser Seka Rachuonyo North, Homabay County. Loving Husband to Penina Odero. Cherished father to Morris Odero (University of Nairobi), Allan Odero (University of Cape Town, South Africa) and Justin Young Kapis Odero of Makini Primary School Nairobi. Brother of Marcella Owino, and the late Rebecca Obala. Son-in-law of the late Mzee Alois Owiyo and late Mama Teresa Owiyo of Center Kabondo Oyugis.

First cousin to Samuel Okeyo, Nyandega Njeje, late Rusalia Ochieng, Dorcas Ouko, Paul Okeyo, Meshak Osom, Dedan Obala Okeyo, Herina Obudo and many others. Brother in-law to Sila Owino, late Grado Kapis, Peter Odhiambo Diblo, late Mary Owiyo, Esther Osumba, John Owiyo, Samuel Otieno Okwany, late Impolitus Otieno, Charles Owiyo, Millicent Kapis, Late Belinda Onyango, Mary Otieno, Ruth Otieno, Pacific Adhiambo, Leonida Auma, Grace Okeyo, Jane Osom, Pamela Okeyo, Rose Obala and many others. In-laws to Ben Omuodo, Chacha Odera and Franklin Alexander.

A great and loving friend to many people.

The body is at the Aga Khan Hospital mortuary, Nairobi. Family and friends are meeting daily in Nairobi West and his home in South C for prayers and funeral arrangements. The main Fundraising will be held on Tuesday 3rd October 2017 at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, at 5pm. The burial date will be announced later.
