In Loving Memory

When he named his house “The Bridge” from the never-hads to the have-nots, perhaps Alfred had in mind all the dreams he intended to fulfill. Or perhaps he wanted to remind us that we must keep moving, because a bridge is not built for us to stop and stay on, but rather to connect us with new possibilities. We are all forever transient, never staying rooted in one place no matter how hard we try. With baba in our lives the transience was effortless and welcome because no matter where we transitioned to, we knew he was with us. At our side, or a little ahead showing us the way, or right behind us, arms outstretched to break our fail, we knew he was there.

But when dad left us the journey was suddenly unsettling and uncertain. We tautened, trying to slow down or hold on to his loving and guidance. With time we have realized that he did not leave us in limbo but rather on a sturdy bridge to connect us to any and all possibilities. So we travel on, knowing we are perpetually moving forward to someday reconvene.

We treasure those who speak Alfred’s name, sharing stories of their days with him. We appreciate you and thank you for making these memories everlasting.

We will hold Alfred in our hearts until we can hold him in heaven, for we know the Almighty God is taking care of him in that home where there is no pain, no sorrow, only peace and endless joy. For this and more we give our humble and eternal gratitude to God.

Forever remembered by the Owuor and Nyadimo family, relatives and friends

“So don’t fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and  help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand ” Isaiah 41:10

    Mrs. Hawi says:

How comforting it is to know that Jehovah the God of all comfort will eliminate all grief.
2 Corinthians 1:3, 4- Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.’
He will then provide permanent consolation when ‘all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out,’ (John 5:28, 29)
